Horia was the Romanian Olympic Coach for the Romanian National team, participating in both the Sarajevo and Calgary Olympic Games. Horia produced Olympic athletes for both the 1984 &1988 Winter Games and the 2004 Summer Games. His extensive experience in sport and sport administration at an International level has enriched the gymnastics program.
Stephania Iliesu holds a masters degree in Phys Ed, with a specialty in gymnastics, from the university of Bucharest. She was an elite gymnast and a member of the Romanian National team in 1972. Her experience in gymnastics has produced provincial, national and international gymnasts in Canada. She was a Canadian Olympic Coach at the Athens Olympic Games in 2004. Stephania worked at the Australian National Gymnastic Centre in Brisbane from 2007-2008. Stephania is a well recognized international specialist on beam and floor, and choreography. Steve Iliesu is a level III NCCP certified gymnastics coach. Steve, along with his brother Tony, was a provincial champion in tennis doubles and ranked in the top 8 in Canada. His experience from a variety of sports makes him a versatile coach. Steve became an uneven bars specialist and has produced provincial and national level gymnasts and prepared an Olympian for 2004. His experience ranges from working with gymnasts from pre-competitive to national levels. Shallon Heinzig was a gymnast training with Stephania & Horia since she was a young child. After retirement Shallon got her pilot's license and has been a gymnastics coach with the Iliesu team since 1997. Shallon is a NCCP level III gymnastics coach. Her experience ranges from working with gymnasts from pre-competitive to national levels Men's Competitive CoachesMitsugu Ikeda graduated from Chukyo University in Japan with a degree in Physical Education. He attended 6 World championships as one of Team Canada's coaches. Mits was the Head Coach for the 1999 Pan American Games team and was the Head Coach for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Richard Ikeda has graduated from the University College of the Fraser Valley with a Computer Information Systems degree. He has been a strong presence in gymnastics for 22 years and has competed as a Senior National Athlete for 13 of those years. Richard has competed in many International Meets including the 1996 Olympics and has been coaching for nearly 10 years. Richard has obtained his level 3 in coaching and is currently working on his level 4. Ken Ikeda has been a strong presence in gymnastics for 15 years and has competed as a Senior National Athlete for 9 of those years. Ken has competed in many International Meets including the 2004 and 2008 Olympics. Ken has just begun coaching competitive athletes and has completed his level 2 certification and is working on level 3 and 4.
Jonathan Osers has been a competitive athlete for 12 years. He has competed nationally for 7 Years. Jonathan has completed his level 2 coaching certification and is currently working on his level 3. He is attending UFV and working towards his Teaching Degree.
